Just thought this was interesting... Concerning David Byrne of The Talking Heads, Punk Magazine reported this bit of news in 1976- When David (Byrne -which is my MIL's maiden name as a matter-of-fact) applied for admission to Rhode Island School of Design, he submitted a project: Xerox copies of Etch-a-Sketch maps of each of the fifty states. The admissions board took one look, and said they were sorry, there was nothing more they could do for him.
Wish I had thought of that. The Etch-a-Sketch thing, not the board thing.

What a cool idea. Byrne may flail and jerk, but inside lurks a genius.
The Etch-A-Sketch is truly an under-utilized medium for the arts. One can only hope that in years to come, the art snobs will open their eyes to the wondrous, knob-twiddling potential of the little red laptop. Poor David Byrne...clearly a man before his time.
Mark: Agreed.
Mok: Ditto.
What's wrong with Etch-A-Sketch drawings. My oldest drew (is that a word? cause it doesn't really look like one!) a perfect rifle, trigger and all,(a couple years ago) and I thought that was genius! Maybe the "board" was just that! Natalie
NAT: Bored Board, haha ;-) I would not be even a little surprised if you spawned a genius!
