JUST KILLIN' TIME...

... until PD wakes up from a nap so we can have dinner. Had a good day at work and a good week too. Funny how some people put on their best faces just because the holiday is near. I could never understand why, if they can do it for a few weeks, why not all the time? It's so much easier to be nice and smile than it is to be grumpy and contrary. No sense in condemning them tho' for making an effort, so I'm just enjoying it.

Since y'all seem to have egos and enjoy talking aboot yourselves, here are some more questions that need some answering... Dual purpose; make you feel good and satisfy my curiosity. ;-)

1) What item would you choose to put into a time capsule that would best represent you?
2) What is your favorite slow-dance song?
3) How many pillows do you sleep with?
4) What's your favorite euphemism for "making out"?
5) What color are your eyes?

I was blog-surfing instead of doing Christmas cards last night. Came across some artwork I really liked. The artist is Lisa Hammer. I went to her website and found out she is quite a versatile kinda gal. If you're interested at all, go check her out. The artwork I especially liked is shown up there. It's legal for me to post that here, right, if I give the artist credit?

Have a good weekend.

3) 2 normally, but it rocketed to 6 while I was pregnant:)
4) "Let's be naughty"
5) grayish blue

Mokker: Is #1 something moon-like? Because this would correspond kinda with the object I was thinking of for my own choice.
Hibbity-Dibbity- you have an explanation for this? Very interesting ;-) Eyes that change color are way cool. Mine are green-on the light side, one day I was wearing a lavender shirt and someone told me that my eyes actually looked violet. My eyes were blue until I was six or so. A pediatrician told me once that that was very unusual. My former optometrist boasted one blue eye and one brown eye.

Moonshot: I'm so glad you're here! I hope you come back, I'd love to get to know you. Your hub is one of my new favorite people. You need to join in the fun :-) I enjoyed your answers. Sometime you'll have to share your 25 books with us. I'm not familiar with Ms. Cassidy but always like to check out new (to me)music. Six pillows? Whew! BTW, Norah is a doll baby!
"Let's be naughty"- sounds very provocative, I bet you don't often get turned down ;-) Do you laugh when MG invites you to do the HD???
I've posted other questions in a couple of recent posts, you're welcome to answer those as well.
Do you have a blog?

This will probably cause more questions than answers...but here's Stellaluna.

I can't recall the story behind the coining of hibbitty-dibbitty. It's just one of the odd phrases I've made up...but unlike many, this one stuck. It became infamous in our family when Moonshot chose to annoy her very Lutheran folks by bursting their fantasy bubble during a car ride with an announcement that long before we were married...we were "doing the hibbity-dibbity." They actually laughed and her mom has been caught using the phrase since. Go figure.

Mokker: A fruit bat. Hmmm. I guess I'll have to read the book to figure out how this might represent the Mokker that we've grown to "know" and love. Unless you want to tell it.
The HB story is cute.
Tell Moonshot I liked EC's version of Fields of Gold 100 times better than Sting's.

Simon: I'm thinkin' Tubthumpin' might be a little wee bit hard to slow dance to, but hey, from the wedding pics I've seen of you, you have a very original style of dance...

I'm anxious to see if Mark's eyes are greenish, that would be trippy.

Actually, reading the book (while cute) really wouldn't explain the real meaning of the item. My Dad and I were cavers when I was young. I started spelunking with him when I was about 5 or so. So, bats became and still are my favorite animal. They're cute, they're ecologically benificial, they live in caves, and they are misunderstood...all pluses in Moksha's book. I plan on getting a bat themed tatoo as soon as finances allow. I have a small collection of bat stuff (hmmm, should have mentioned that in Marks blog the other day) and a couple stuffed bats that live about the house. But Stellaluna was the first kids book I know of to make bats cute...and I always appriciated that. Plus, Dad bought me the Stellaluna. So, for all those reasons, the little stuffed bat is probably what would be most me.

Wink - I'm a bit of a "lurker". I don't follow the blogs as much as Moksha, but I do read occasionally. I would promise to write more in the future, but well, I tend to be a "lurker" in real life, also. So I can't promise much, it's against my nature:) I fell in love with Eva Cassidy a few years ago and adore her voice. And I narrowed the book number to 25 from 50 so as not to appear too nerdy. haha. I do not have a blog, computers are just not my thing. If I had fancy recording equipment, I think it would be cool to record myself playing a song a day on the piano and post that. It would keep me more honest about my practice time. I had a piano prof in college who practiced every day from 9-11pm - even on vacation! I don't want to be that anal, but I sure wish I could be a little more disciplined! However, Moksha has been nagging me to do a guest blog on his site so maybe you'll see me there.

MG: Thank you so much for the in-depth explanation. It all makes perfect sense. In a charming way.

MS: Please come back more often than you'd like but less often than I would like... It will work out ;-) We'll both be semi-happy which is way better than not. And, Lord, don't ever worry about seeming nerdy here, we're the Island of Misfit Toys Personified here... same goes for being anal, it's pretty much a requirement for this group, most of us anyway. I will be watching for you to guest blog.

Dang you and your questions. But, my wife and boy are napping in the recliner before a night out with another set of friends, so here goes (of course):

1. A picture of me with my family, because I would be nothing without them and we could all be together throughout the millennia.

2. "Takes my Breath Away" by Tuck and Patti (not the Top Gun tune). Our first dance as a married couple was to this song.

3. One

4. Thowin' down.

5. Blue

Moonshot - That is so weird that you said that about recording your piano playing. I'm a recording buff (as Moksha can attest), and I told my wife just last night that MG should record your piano playing, because (God forbid) if anything ever happened to you, it would allow him to here you play, and it would mean as much to him as any picture (if I "know" him at all the way I think I do).

Mark: Dang you and your answers. ;-Þ Quite the social butterfly, aren't we?
Oh, you, too, have "sets" of friends. I considered doing a post aboot "friends" and how varied mine are. Might do that soon.
Nice answers, but your eyes are supposed to be green.
Did you mean "Throwing" down? Ha, that's cute. Nothing like keeping the upper hand ;-)
I think it was Simon who once told me, you know your blog is successful (or something like that) when the commentors start talking amongst themselves. Thanks.
You might want to send Shannon over here to witness your spelling errors. ;-)

Lindy, Lindy. It wasn't an error.

To "Thow down" is the same as to "Throw down," but it's more urban.

Mark: Ahh. Gotcha. Like in homey talk? I also meant the use of "here" when I believe you meant "hear"... I don't mind but the wife might have...

Simon: I was planning to dig out my own Swiss army knife and contemplate your answer. Didn't get to it, so maybe you would like to enlighten me. I think this will be quite interesting.

Simon: Thanks for the explanation, I was all like, he's going to use words like "sharp" and "handy" and the corkscrew thing- well, I'm not sure what I expected you to say aboot that... but it's cool that it means so much to you.
Ah, geez, you said MacGyver. Poopy will love you.

TC: You have green eyes! Welcome to the club. Green Eyes Rule !!!
I would hope that you would say your writing because it is more "you" than anything I can think of except for maybe that purple pimp suit ;-) Forever Young is one of my all-time favorite songs. And "making out" is the best name for it that I can say here... "Wreak havoc" would work too- Like, "Ooh Baby, why don'tcha come over and we'll wreak a little havoc on each other." LOL Course, you'd have to say it just right.
Thanks for playing. :-)

dang I want to change my number four to "Party Naked" that one is my fav. My mind was too square yesterday.
I know green eyes do rule! Funny thing about mine, they change colors. When I was younger I could make them change. Now it just depends on my mood, green mostly, Orange when I'm supper happy, and dark brown to black when I'm sad.

TC: I wish I had thought of Party Naked...
I may have said this already- My eyes don't usually turn color but a month or so ago I was wearing a light purple shirt and a friend told me my eyes looked violet. That never happened before. Light blue sometimes makes them look blue-green. I never noticed if my moods change the color...
